Google Verification

Hi

Having not received any reply to my various emails sent requesting help with setting up my site I am now asking for help through the forum.
I have been trying to verify my site with Google by adding the verification code however I was unable to do so.
I have followed the instructions provided by Google, however, I think the problem is where to place the HML or Meta tag.Where exactly on site is it placed?
The video tutorial was not specific nor was the written version I have tried placing the Google meta tag and html tag in several places in the HTML Header Tags section. However after several attempts it was not verified by Google .The massage was “We weren't able to verify your site:
I am a ‘newby’ and would like to make a early start on indexing my site.
Can someone who has been through similar start up problem PLEASE give me some advise on how to get to sort this out.

HI i had the same trouble after numerous attempts and lots of frustration i had to ask my son who is some sort of guru on this internet thing

y he checked it all through and was all ok he told me to be patient and wait which i did and as if by magic 2 days latter all was well

It'll more than likely need to be in the head tags

Sorry to interrupt here guys.

Is your site with UKD or DBPUK?
I dont think you'll be able to put the link to the tutorials or any code here if you are with either DPBUK or UKD as it will go against the agreement in your terms and condition concerning public and open forums.
If this is the case then make use of their support ticket system as I understand this is the quickest method to get a response.

If the code is provided by Google that's fine, tbh if the code is on the site we'd all be able to view if the page is anyway.

It is Google that provides the code to you, and they also provide instructions on where to place it on your website. It is very easy to do.

Hi

I recommend that you choose the 'download a file' option.

You need to save this to the same folder as your index page file (index.htm or index.html). The folder will probably be called 'public_html'

google will give you the code
then just copy and paste it into the index pages head

mine is just underneath title
